Jean Trinh is the Associate Editor of LAist.com. Formerly, she was an entertainment writer for The Daily Beast. She has written film and music reviews, and interviewed actors like Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Family Guy) and Adam DeVine (Workaholics), podcast giants like Marc Maron (WTF! With Marc Maron), and artists like Takashi Murakami. She also loves a good laugh and is on the pulse of meme culture, having penned pieces on millennial icons like The Oatmeal and Thug Kitchen.
In her previous life, she worked in entertainment and corporate public relations as well as film festival publicity. After graduating from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (and an Economics minor she never used), she traveled abroad in Japan to teach English before returning back to her hometown in Los Angeles where she currently resides.
When Jean isn’t writing, she can be found cooking some savory recipes, grubbing at local restaurants, bobbing her head at concerts, getting absorbed in Korean dramas, and training for her first half-marathon.
